Private Pain

By Marcia K. Leaser

My favorite verses in the Bible are Romans 8:38-39; which tell us that absolutely nothing can keep us from the love of God.

That has helped me face many a situation in which I felt alone and completely unloved.

We each have our own private pain, which oftentimes causes us to question the very existence of God let alone His love.

We can’t avoid pain on this earth, and whether it’s physical or emotional, it hurts: sometimes beyond the limits of acceptance.  Where the truth is more than we think we can bear.

But, when we allow God’s love to answer our feeble cries for help, and permit His strength to pick us up and give us the courage to go on… regardless of the depth of our sorrow, we realize we’ll make it through this inconceivable time.

Then, somehow, almost when we least expect it; we suddenly know we believe what God said in His word; that nothing, absolutely nothing, will separate us from His love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s truth we find in His word is always greater than the truth we see in this world.
