To my Child
By Marcia K. Leaser

If I could - I'd give you the world wrapped in fancy paper, tied with colorful ribbons.
Then stand back in awe as you pulled it from the box.
Or perhaps I'd just hand it to you unwrapped, and search your widened eyes as it passed from my trembling hands to your innocent ones.
But, you see, this world with all its flaws and pain is not so great a gift, when Your Father in Heaven has already presented you with a far far greater prize
One with no earthly strings or human bondage. One with a greater reward than my feeble attempt at giving you happiness could ever afford. For it reaches beyond this world ... beyond where human eyes can see, and human minds can fathom.
Please; respect my human desire to give you all I have, and clutch it to your breast throughall your years on this fragile sphere called earth.
But ... grab with open arms the treasure given you by the One who loves you with a greater love than I could ever offer.
Jesus said, "It is my pleasure to give you the kingdom."
There is no greater gift than this.
This will be included in my new book EVERY STEP OF THE WAY to be published by
