Seeking The Light

John 1:1-9

Darkness and light cannot both exist in the same place.

The world was dark and void until God came to earth Himself in the form of Jesus Christ.

He was the light.

When He arrived, the darkness ran to hide and we were given grace and truth through the personhood of Jesus Christ.

But even those who witnessed His coming didn’t truly understand what His arrival meant.

He came as a child - yet a king to those He came to serve.

He came as a king - yet a servant to those He came to save.

He came as a servant - yet a savior to those He came to enlighten.

But . . . until we grapple with the darkness within us, we are merely a shell of what we should be.

Until we allow the light of grace and truth to overcome us and encompass our very being: we won’t be wise enough to have faith, spiritual enough to have spirituality, or sensitive enough to recognize the needs of the world around us.

Because of Jesus Christ, darkness is no longer an excuse we can use for not seeking the light.
