The Easter Egg Hunt

Tuff and Fluff and Bunny Lee, were three little bunnies who lived with three very special children.
The children's names were, Ashley, Brandi and Kyle Tyree.
They were all very happy because Easter was coming and soon they’d be out hunting the colored eggs in the yard.
They always had such fun when they searched for the many bright eggs that were hidden under leaves and behind trees.
Ashley, Kyle and Brandi, and the three little bunnies were out hunting eggs that special Easter Sunday, when it began to rain. It rained so hard that everyone ran for cover. The people ran one way and Tuff and Fluff and Bunny Lee ran another.
Before they knew it, the three little bunnies were lost in the woods.
They hopped around for what seemed like forever. The sky was pitch black. The thunder crashed and the Lightning flashed. They were afraid. They were alone. And they were very very wet and cold.
"Oh, what can we do?" Fluff cried loudly. Just then a huge crash of thunder shook the trees and a bright flash of lightening caused the darkened woods to become like day.
"I'm afraid," little Tuff said in a shaky voice. "I know Ashley is looking for me and wondering where I am."
"And I know Kyle is calling my name for sure." Fluff said with eyes opened big and wide. I know I'd be able to hear him if the thunder wasn't so loud."
Bunny Lee was curled up in some dry brown brush under a bush, licking her fur. She didn't seem upset at all by the fact they were lost, cold, hungry and all alone.
"Hey, Bunny Lee," Tuff asked in a curious voice. "Why are you not afraid? Doesn't it bother you that we can't find our way home?"
"Don't you even care that we have nothing to eat?" Fluff asked in a worried voice.
Bunny Lee scratched one long brown ear and snuggled deeper into her little nest. "I'm not worried at all," she said with a wrinkle of her white nose with the brown spot on it. "I prayed to my friend Jesus, and He will take care of us."
Just then, the thunder made a loud noise and Fluff jumped high into the air and hopped as fast as he could over to Bunnie Lee's nest. "Who is Jesus? Do I know him?"
"I'll bet he’s one of the other rabbits in the pet store who didn't get picked to live with Ashley, Kyle and Brandi." Tuff said with a grin. "Why in the world would you pray to a rabbit? What’s prayer anyway?"
"If you’d have listened to Ashley's Grandpa when he sat down to eat dinner, before we started our Easter egg hunt, you’d have heard a prayer." Bunny Lee explained. "He thanked Jesus for the food they were going to eat."
"I have a strange feeling Jesus isn’t a rabbit in the pet store. Right?" Tuff asked as he snuggled closer to Bunny Lee in the little nest.
"That's right. He isn't a rabbit at all. He’s God's Son." Bunny Lee said in a confident voice. "And prayer is the way we talk to Jesus. He hears every time we pray. When we thank Him for our food. When we ask Him to help us when we’re afraid. And when we feel lonely and need Him to be with us. I asked Him to be here with us and help us not to be afraid anymore."
Tuff looked through the pitch-black woods. "You mean He’s here right now?
"He sure is," Bunny Lee answered.
"If He’s here, why can't I see him?" The little black bunny asked as he looked around.
"Yeah, I don't see Him either." Fluff said with a big sigh.
"Well, I can't see Him, either," Bunny Lee said as she wiggled and squirmed to be more comfortable in the nest of leaves. "But, I know He’s here."
"How do you know that?" Fluff and Tuff both asked at the same time.
"I know it in my heart." Bunny Lee replied. "That’s why I’m not afraid. I asked Him to help us find a safe warm place to stay until Ashley, Kyle and Brandi find us. And that’s just what He did." She snuggled further under the bush.
"Humph," Tuff grumbled. "He could have made it a little bigger if you ask me. There’s hardly enough room for all three of us."
Fluff giggled. "I think we should be happy with what we have. At least it’s warm and dry."
"I agree with Fluff,” Bunny Lee said with a yawn. "Let's just take a little nap and wait for Ashley, Kyle and Brandi."
While the three little bunnies slept the rain stopped. The sky turned blue, and the sun came out.
Suddenly, Tuff wiggled out of the little nest and lifted one ear. "Hey, you guys, Listen." He hopped ahead on the path a little ways. Then he jumped up and down and shouted with glee. "It's Ashley, I hear her calling me."
"I hear her, too," Bunny Lee yelled. "And I see Brandi looking for me." She shook the sleeping brown bunny next to her. "Hey, Fluff, wake up, the storm’s over. Kyle’s calling you."
Fluff stretched and yawned. He wiggled his nose and scratched one brown ear. "Hey, I guess that prayer stuff really works. Here comes Kyle, running to get me."
"Yeah," Tuff said as he hopped down the path to meet his friend Ashley. "I’m glad you prayed Bunny Lee. I wasn't afraid after you talked to Jesus. From now on, I’ll know Who to talk to, when I’m afraid or lonely."
The three bunnies jumped into the arms of Ashley, Kyle and Brandi and were soon snuggled in their own little nests beside the barn.
