The Canvas of Life

If we truly want to capture

the creative heart of the one

who took their brush in hand

and spread their life before us.

We must stand back from it.

                      Studying the vastness

of the gift this artist gave…

by sharing their dream with us.

                      Notice its depth and density.

                      Envision each and every crevice.

Then by them spreading their dreams

                      with strokes of sweet abandon.

We’ll see the picture come to life

on the silent canvas before us.

     Thus it is with life:

If we truly want to capture

the heart of Him Who created us.

Who took our lives in His hands,

and gave His Son to save us.

We must stand back in awe.

                      Capturing the glorious splendor

of this gift God has given…

by sharing His very person with us.

                      Notice His compassion and grace.

                      Envision each and every promise.

Then by us presenting our petitions

                      in fervent heartfelt prayers.

We’ll see our dreams come alive…

on the eternal canvas of life.
