Once Upon a Time

I've heard the story often -

as I'm sure you all have, too.

About the Babe of long ago,

and what He had to do.

I'm sure you know as well as I,

the manger and the hay...

how the shepherds left their flocks

to worship Him that day.

Ah, yes, you've heard the story.

I'm telling nothing that is new.

But I wonder, if you know my friend,

the reason He came - was you?
