Making The Most of Today

My Dad always said, “Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.”

It’s true.  There are those who worry life away waiting for tomorrow to bring them more than what life has offered them so far.  And there are those who live remembering what they did or didn’t have.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a nostalgic stroll down memory lane… but memories often deceive us.  We tend only to remember the good times.  When in actuality, if we could go back, we’d have to relive it all: the good, the bad and the ugly.

We shouldn’t long for the past – find excuses for the present – or be afraid of the future.

The past is over.  Tomorrow is but a dream, and today is the only time we have to call our own.

It’s where we live, and even though the decisions we make today will affect our future, it can’t define it… because this world is full of outside stimuli that can turn our lives upside down with one stroke of reality.

God alone calls us into the future with an agenda known only to Him.

Should we be anxious for the future?  You betcha’: because God has the very best in store for each and every single one of us.

Be ready for tomorrow, but give today your best shot.
