Am I my Brother's Keeper?

Jesus and the flag

When Jesus walked this earth, there were tyrants, ruling the land.

Terrorists plotted and planned to murder whomever threatened

their positions.  Jesus Himself was betrayed by a friend and put

to death.  People had to meet in each other's homes to speak

the truth they believed.

Times haven’t changed a great deal in the last two thousand years

have they?

Tyrants still rule.  Terrorists, plotting to kill our military leaders,

were arrested in a town close to mine not long ago.

We’re very blessed to be able to meet in churches and speak

openly of our faith, and our beliefs to show the world Whom,

and Who’s we are.

Our flag still stands for freedom, but if we look closely, we can

see our rights being slowly taken from us.

The battle is raging and we need to take care of each other more

today than ever before.  Poverty, confusion and fear are the

weapons being used to destroy us daily... a little at a time..

Reach out to those in need, comfort those who are confused.

Bring those who are frightened into the family of God.  Invite

them to our churches and tell them about Jesus Christ.  How

He's alive today, and fighting for our souls, just as He did over

two thousand years ago.

Are we our brother’s keeper?  Good subject for debate I suppose.

But we never stand so tall as when we stoop to help another.
